University of San Francisco starts student EMS system

The University of San Francisco created the USF Emergency Medical Response (EMR) program over the summer to provide EMS services to the campus. The EMR program operates on Fridays and Saturdays from 1900-0700 and the crew consists of two EMT’s that are college students and one FTO to supervise. The new service pulled its first shift at the beginning of the Fall semester and so far the majority of the calls have been ETOH related, lacerations and complaints of pain.
