Jefferson County BLS units may start carrying Narcan

JEFFERSON COUNTY, New York — The state EMS advisory committee has accepted a proposal to allow Jefferson County BLS units to carry Narcan. If the proposal is approved by the director of the state’s EMS bureau and the commissioner of the Department of Health, Jefferson County’s BLS units — (5) ambulance agencies and (21) first responder agencies — will start carrying an intranasal form of Narcan.
